Holy City Brewery describes the “Overly Friendly IPA” as so….

Here in Charleston, we’re a smiling kind. It doesn’t matter if you’re a visitor to our fair city or you came from down the road to grab a pint, we’re always happy to see you. We live in a paradisal coastal city, so why wouldn’t we be?

Our intern Brynn came up with the name “Overly Friendly” for this American IPA because of how damn nice everyone is around here, and if you’re not familiar with the Lowcountry, it can be a little overwhelming at first. We used enough pale and wheat malts in the boil to give this hoppy brew a nice, malty body while still remaining crisp and drinkable. Chinook, Centennial and Simcoe are used in the dry-hop to create a nice blend of citrus and piney notes, and it’s got a nice ABV that will have you saying “Y’all” in no time. We can this beer in six-packs, so spit one with a friend and do like the Charlestonians do. You don’t have to drink them on the porch, but they taste a lot better out there!

When we add cilantro, jalapeno, and pineapple to this, it becomes Muy Amigo IPA.
