I grew up watching MTV. It launched on August 1, 1981, and a few months later, I was born. Left alone to watch TV a lot as a kid, I worshipped the MTV VJs, the rock stars, the glitz, the glam, and of course, the music.
I have vivid memories of certain music videos that I consumed on repeat. When Alanis Morissette came out with the “You Oughta Know” video, I recorded it as many times as the VHS tape would let me so I could watch it over and over again.
I grew up watching “The State,” ‘Liquid TV,” “Beavis and Butthead,” and the original season of “The Real World.” I was obsessed with MTV. I miss it.
But what really stands out as an adult is the more risqué videos. I probably shouldn’t have seen some of them… ok most of them. But, damn were some of them sexy. And that’s where we are today. The top 3 sexiest videos of all time, according to me.
Number 3: Janet Jackson “Any Time, Any Place”
Now, for me, this is just one of the sexiest songs of all time. And yes, I am a rock girl, but I worship Janet. She has been an idol of mine since I was a very little girl, circa the ‘Control’ album. This is PRIME Janet. She is still so amazingly beautiful and talented, but this is peak Janet. I also think this is from her BEST, and SEXIEST album, ‘Janet.”
Number 2: George Michael “Freedom! ’90”
Another admission: this is one of my all-time favorite songs. It gets me amped up. I work out to it all the time. But, the video… it’s chocked full of the hottest super models the world has ever seen. It’s simple, well executed, and beautiful.
Number 1: Chris Isaak “Wicked Game”
I see a 90s trend here… First off, you may notice that this video is age restricted. That should be the first clue that this video is HOT. I also LOVE this song. Beautiful Chris Isaak, stunning Helena Christensen, a beach, black and white… need I say more?
